It's a nice change of pace for preschool TV that doesn't always bring the family dynamic to the forefront. A Case of the Giggles Hiccups & Night Fun. In Mimiloo, Kate and her friends find it in a forest.
Kate sees a falling star shoot across the sky and wonders where it landed. In Mimiloo, Kate, Mim-Mim and their friends find a balloon tree. They foster her imagination by following her lead during play time, and she's always eager to tell them what she's been up to in the world of her making. Kate is making a balloon buddy for Mim-Mim. Even though the majority of each story follows Kate's adventures in Mimiloo, the time she spends in the real world is usually alongside one or both of them. There's a lot to like about this vibrant show and its endearing characters, but what really stands out is the visibility of Kate's parents. Preschoolers will like the possibilities this opens for the characters in the context of make-believe. Not only does arriving in Mimiloo transform Mim-Mim into a walking, talking friend, it also shifts Kate into a more grown-up role as she becomes the nurturing, advisory parent-apparent for Mim-Mim and their magical friends.
Kate & Mim-Mim does a superb job of tapping into the preschooler psyche and bringing to life kids' boundless sense of adventure, particularly as it relates to the bond between a child and her BFF stuffy.
